The Pitmaster Series of knives and tools
from Jero were designed and tested in North America by BBQ competition
teams, and BBQ restaurants. Our goal was to produce a quality line of
products, that were also affordable. For the steel we went to Germany,
and sourced a popular blend of metals to produce a strong and corrosive
resistant blade, that holds an edge well, but could also be easily
resharpened. The handle of the knives needed to be easy to grip and
clean, but also be comfortable for a variety of hand sizes and hand
positions. Impact and temperature resistant polymer handles are
injection molded onto the blade and tang of the knife, to create a near
seamless blade to handle transition, and produce a strong handle that
would last under the abuse of restaurant use. We then back our knife
with a lifetime guarantee against defects.
The Serrated Concavo Slicer is
a wide blade, sharpened serrated edge, slicing knife that took two years to
develop to get the perfect blade, balance, strength, and handle shape.
Tested in the field, the Concavo Slicer features a high-carbon German
stainless steel blade, with hollows areas along both sides of the knife
blade to help reduce friction when slicing. The wide blade helps keep
product in place during slicing, and aids in making straight cuts. A
longer than industry standard tang extends off the blade into the
commercial grade polymer handle, that is injection molded onto the blade
and tang to produce a very strong bond. The ergonomically designed
handle provides control and comfort, while large finger guard helps
reduce accidental slips off the handle. The Concavo Slicer is made in
Portugal in our modern production facility.
